Last week I got the news from Ulysses Press that evidently they are happy enough with the sales of Coloring Animal Mandalas to sign me on to do another book of mandala coloring pages with them – WOOT!! My next title is going to be a collection of flower mandalas, which is awesome because if I could choose just one title to do next, it would pretty much be flower mandalas (with art deco / art nouveau mandalas a close second).
I’ve started collecting very old clip art for inspiration…
and started a Mandalas & Patterns Pinterest board to surround myself with art that I think is better than mine.
That way I keep striving to make my own ideas as good as those that are around me. 🙂
Not to mention that there are already three mandalas from my first book that feature flowers prominently…
This week, though, I’m going to take a bit of time off and do a mini renovation on my home office. “Mini”, because the room is really just a 8′ x 15′ enclosed porch. So I’ll post a bit about that – then will be posting sneak peeks of the mandalas in progress all along the way. If you really want to see as much of the work in action as possible, follow my Instagram account – I try to post art there daily!
Can’t wait to buy that book too! I love the animal mandalas! Trying to steal some time to color my book! :). I love living vicariously through your creativity right now, via FB, instagram, etc.. As a mom of a 6 year-old with a full-time job (artist in hibernation); I long to find more time to be creative, blog, etc. I always look forward to seeing what you’re up to! Thanks for sharing your creativity, you’re such an inspiration. <3
Crystal, you have no idea how much your comment means to me on so many levels. Most of all, when my own children were little, I tried and kind of failed at making art my career. I had a little more success with graphic design, but doing art now is such a full circle moment in my life and career. So please know that if art is what you’re meant to do, I really don’t think you will be able to avoid it. It may take a while, but I know in my heart you will have another chance to pursue that dream. For now, I’m totally honored to be your vicarious creative inspiration!! XOXO
Wendy – thank you so much for the kind reply! I find joy in any kind of creativity with my daughter. I know there will be plenty of time for me to paint my heart out… one of these days ;), until then I seek creative adventures and share them with my little one whenever I can. I look forward to following your creative journey… and thank you for sharing it, it will be appreciated! 🙂

Well I just have to jump into this comment party now… Wendy, it makes me happy to see you back and blogging, not to mention having success with something that you are so passionate about. Keep up the great work as it helps inspire the rest of us to step out and try things too!
Thanks Wendy!
Derek – getting a comment from you is extra special because we go back to really OLD SCHOOL blogging days together! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment and for your encouragement. You will always hold such a special place in my blogging heart. 🙂 <3

I will be ordering mine soon! I live with a debilitating auto-immune disease that leaves me immobile at times, plus I have PTSD… I was introduced to Mandalas during a therapy session, and they have been SUCH a blessing! I’m so excited to find some new designs (I live 40+ miles from the nearest bookstore) & look foward to following you on Instagram and whatnot! I hope you have a truly blessed day! 🙂
Stunning and can easily see how relaxing they could be.
Hi I am losing my mom to dementia, she is in a nursing home. I have 5 auto immunes. I know it would be good for me, any studies if it’s good for dementia patients? She does nothing but sit and wait for me or dad to visit.TY

I love to color… Always have! I teach high school life skills class and I am very excited to share these beautiful pages with my students!!! I look forward to future email updates! Thank you, ????
I use the geometric mandala designs in my preschool class as the kids have seen me coloring pages which I make copies of and they love it and want to color “designs”. It truly gives us a feeling of tranquility and accomplishment. A co worker had a coloring book of mandalas tat she lent me to make the copies but it’s stored somewhere now and I’d like to make have more copies. We’ve even cut them out as they have a solid black circle borders, making it easier for the young kids to cut. I’ve laminated some of the nicest ones! Thanks!
Just got Coloring Flower Mandalas is the mail. This 64 year old grandma is delighted. Can’t wait to get out my colored pencils and stop time. Thank you!!
